Sankyu Suminoe
A moment to unwind in the city.
Choose yakitori with sauce or salt, then add kushikatsu or a grilled rice ball. At Sankyu Suminoe, you can mix and match skewers to suit your meal.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
One appealing way to eat here is to pair yakitori with sauce and a grilled rice ball. One diner found the sauce sweet and said it went well with the rice ball. Start with favourites such as chicken thigh, negima (chicken and spring onion) and tsukune (chicken meatball), choosing sauce or salt, then order a few skewers to share or sample. A grilled rice ball also makes a satisfying finish to the meal.
Alongside the familiar yakitori choices, the menu includes more unusual skewers such as chicken thigh with wasabi, chicken thigh with yuzu kosho and cheese tsukune. One diner recommended the sauced assortment of 5 yakitori skewers, an easy option for a group wanting to compare flavours. Kushikatsu—deep-fried skewers—offers another change of pace between grilled ones. The listed choices include lotus root, king oyster mushroom and aubergine, as well as fried mochi and fried shumai.
Drinks include beer, highballs and sours, plus a non-alcoholic beer-style drink. Come for a drink with yakitori and kushikatsu, or make a meal of a few skewers. The Suminoe branch stays open late and accepts cash only.
